How long have you been in business, and what is your service area?

TJ’s has been licensed and engaged in the building maintenance industry for over 20 years, and we serve all of Hawaii.

Do you offer day and night janitorial services, including 24/7 and emergency service?

TJ’s offers a full range of janitorial services available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We also provide around-the-clock emergency service, guaranteeing to arrive on a customer’s premises within one hour after receiving the emergency call.

Are your employees insured, bonded, and trained?

Yes, we carry public liability and property damage insurance as well as worker’s compensation. Every employee is fully trained, insured, and bonded. Insurance Certificates are always available upon request.

TJ’s complies with the Department of Homeland Security to perform comprehensive background checks on all employees, including criminal, drug, and eligibility. Every employee must complete an in-house training program in safety and operational procedures and participate in an extensive on-site training program at one of our larger facilities (in association with our worker’s compensation representative). Our supervisors attend product and service seminars presented by Unisource and other janitorial manufacturers and distributors to keep pace with the changes in our industry.

What is your method of payment and billing schedule?

We accept checks and money orders, and we can easily customize our invoice scheduling for any customer.

Can you provide a client list and reference list?

Yes, we have worked extremely hard to develop a client list as well as a reference list. Both are always available upon request.

Do you have any type of work guarantee?

Yes, and our guarantee is in writing. If, for any reason, our customers are not completely satisfied with our service or product, we will do it over until they are satisfied. Our goal is to develop long-term relationships with our customers by providing superior service that exceeds their expectations.

How do you provide estimates?

Our answers to all Requests for Proposals (RFPs) are always based on a complete and thorough walkthrough of the facility. We feel it is mandatory to complete a detailed walkthrough and subsequent analysis.

What is “full service?”

Our full janitorial service entails day and night janitorial/custodial services provided seven days a week. Dedicated crews provide carpet steam cleaning; floor stripping, waxing, and high-speed polishing; window cleaning; pressure washing; groundskeeping; and parking lot maintenance.

What makes your customer service so special?

Our Customer Service Department prides itself on their quick response time. We make ourselves available to our customers 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our phones are staffed by real people, not answering machines. All customers are guaranteed a return call from our account specialist within 30 minutes. We provide multiple cell phone numbers to ensure effective and immediate communication.

How much do you charge?

The charge is based on square footage. However, other considerations are factored into the cost, such as heavily soiled carpets, pet stains, etc. We happily come to your home or place of business and give you a free estimate and make our suggestion as to which carpet cleaning method will be best for you.

Do you move furniture?

We move light objects, such as couches or chairs and coffee tables. However, we cannot move large items, such as beds, dressers, pianos, curio cabinets, or any electronic equipment.

What do I need to do in advance of my appointment?

It is best if you pick up miscellaneous items such as clothes, toys, etc. We also ask you to vacuum before our arrival. If you need our assistance in moving tables, we require all items to be removed in advance.

Does anyone need to be there for the appointment?

Not necessarily. We like to see our customers when we arrive; however, we understand people may be busy. Many people make arrangements prior to our arrival, allowing us to gain access to their homes. It is your choice as to how you would like us to enter your home. We will make sure the home is locked and secured when we leave.

Are Saturday appointments available?

Yes. Please keep in mind these appointments book fast, so we recommend making arrangements with us well in advance of the Saturday you prefer.

How often should I have my carpets cleaned?

Carpet manufacturers recommend having your carpets cleaned every 12 to 18 months. If you can, refer to your carpet warranty. We recommend a more frequent cleaning if you have children or pets.

How long does it take for the carpet to dry?

If you use the HOST® Dry Extraction System, you can walk on the carpet immediately. If you choose the Truckmount Cleaning method, the usual drying time is 3 to 16 hours depending on the time of year and weather conditions.
